When it comes to corporate law, the devil is in the details. As chair of the firm’s Corporate & Business Practice Group, and a partner in the Banking and Municipal Practice Groups, Ed brings meticulous attention to detail to his work with clients. He counsels financial institutions, businesses, not-for-profit organizations and municipal entities on matters regarding private and public financing, negotiating contracts, mergers and acquisitions, business planning and compliance issues. In addition, Ed has formed and advised both housing development fund corporations and local development corporations, and assisted them in various development projects, including affordable housing transactions.
Ed has significant experience in public finance law, including drafting financial and corporate documents for Industrial Development Agency, Dormitory Authority, Water Authority and Housing Authority bond offerings. He serves as bond counsel and represents underwriters, letter of credit banks and borrowers in financing transactions for health care, manufacturing, education and housing infrastructure.
Professional and Community Involvement
Ed serves the community as Board Chair for the Livingston County Chamber of Commerce, as a Director of the Brighton Memorial Library Foundation, as the Secretary of the Brighton Lacrosse Club and an AFS liaison to international exchange students. He is the former President of the Board of Trustees of Brighton Memorial Library, a former member of the Board of Directors of Veterans Outreach Center, Inc., former President of the Board of Directors of the Montessori School of Rochester, former member of the Boot Camp Committee of the Small Business Council, and former chair of the Business Law Council for the Monroe County Bar Association.
Additionally, Ed is a guest speaker for the Monroe County Bar Association. He is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
