As an expert in affordable housing and real estate development, Monica has spent her career building better communities. She has overseen a variety of affordable housing developments while in executive leadership positions at not-for-profit housing and social service organizations. Monica has overseen complex projects involving large-scale property development in multiple locations. Particularly rewarding has been her involvement in securing capital financing to create new supportive housing for at risk populations and to rehabilitate emergency homeless shelters.
In addition to providing legal guidance and advice to firm clients on general business and commercial real estate issues, Monica also operates MM Development Advisors, Inc., where she assists clients in affordable housing site selection, financial structuring, funding, construction phase project management, and closing. She has a deep knowledge of affordable housing regulatory compliance, restructuring, and developing mixed-use properties.
To Monica, everyone deserves a place they can call home. She believes strongly in the importance of non-profit, private sector, and government collaboration to create more sustainable communities for everyone. Monica doesn’t just help develop better communities, she helps people build better lives.
