As a partner in the firm's Litigation Practice Group, Lew brings sensitivity and expertise to the often difficult area of matrimonial and family law. When clients are in life-changing, emotional situations, the legal process can seem overwhelming. They rely on Lew to stay focused, pay attention to detail and keep them informed of every communication that affects them.
Lew's goal is always to seek workable solutions to the complex situations surrounding family law, divorce, child custody, and spousal maintenance. To that end, he practices in Collaborative Law, a non-adversarial approach that reduces the stress and protracted expense of court battles. When litigation is necessary, Lew is also a seasoned tactician in the courtroom, commanding the process with the kind of confidence only experience can bring.
Professional and Community Involvement
In addition to his legal practice, Lew is very active in the community. He is president-elect of the Board of Directors of the Seneca Waterways Council-Boy Scouts of America, and a board member for the Fairport Perinton Partnership for a Better Community. He is also past president and a current member of the Fairport Rotary Club, and is an advisor to the Development Committee of the Rochester Presbyterian Home Foundation Board. He has been a lecturer for both the New York State and Monroe County Bar Associations.
Awards and Recognitions
Because of Lew's long-standing commitment to the law and to his clients, he was named a "Leader in Law" in 2009 by The Daily Record, an award recognizing individuals who are dedicated to their profession and have demonstrated outstanding achievements within their practice.
Lew was named to the 2017 edition of Best Lawyers in America® for Family Law. He was also selected a 2012 Upstate New York Super Lawyer. The Super Lawyer group represents the top 5% of attorneys in Upstate New York who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
